Sulis Goddess of Well Being
Sulis asks you to place focus on your healing.
It is time to ask for what you need mentally, physically, nutritionally and spiritually to maintain good health.
Have you been ignoring your bodies requests for more time, more space, more attention? Perhaps you've been too busy attending to everyone else's needs and putting your own last risking your health.
Maybe the damage has already occurred and illness has been the only way out of a messy or painful situation. Illness is a call for time off and time out of routine. Illness is an energetic reality check about what is no longer working for us and a call to change it.
The way to permanent wellbeing for you now lies in recognizing your own needs and putting them first, nourishing your energy, and allowing new ways of being with yourself that support health and vitality. Give yourself permission to seek support and assistance for your healing process if this is needed.
The Goddess says that the ways you manage your energy can mean the difference between illness and wellness. Illness is the time to direct the flow of energy inward; wellness is the time for energy to be focused outward.
Suggested Ritual
Go to a quiet, warm place where you will not be disturbed for between 15-30 minutes. Play soft music if available. Sitting with your spine erect take twenty deep calming breaths. Close your eyes and mentally scan your body from the toes to head. Breath into any tensions, tightness or pain until completely relaxed.
Imagine that you are in a glorious garden. Visualize the trees, lawns, flowers and fountains. There is a bench that you move to sit on and momentarily enjoy the delightful surroundings.
Someone approaches to join you and you realize that this person is yourself. Your other self is weeping ... ask why, and then listen to the reply compassionately and without interruption. As you listen you become aware that your other self has begun to grow smaller and younger, until a small child is telling you of her sadness.
When she has finished telling you of every sadness she can think of, give her the words and support that she desperately needs to hear. Hug her, kiss her and when complete allow her to continuing shrinking until she can fit into the palm of your hand.
Press her into your heart and promise your inner child that you will love and cherish her and take care of her needs forever.
